Time To Return by Steve Martin

Aug. 27, 2026

Greetings once again from Charlotte, North Carolina.

I first want to thank Moses Julius, Light TV in Pakistan, for publishing my book BACK TO JERUSALEM in the Muslim country. He sent me three copies. (Photo above.)

On September 15, David Lauka and I begin our return trip to Jerusalem, Israel. We will have six weeks with Christian Friends of Israel, bringing comfort to the nation as the Lord gives us the ongoing opportunity.

If you would also like to bless the people there in this time of their need, all contributions are appreciated. (Donate below by going to our website. Thanks!)

As time quickly speeds on, in the years ahead, I want to focus more on and in Israel, especially as the nations continue to turn away, including the USA. We must stand strong alongside our Jewish friends.

I will continue sending these messages from Jerusalem on this 31st trip for me, along with more updates posted on our website, LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE.

And of course I will be uploading new WALK WITH ME videos as I have always done previously. Yeah Lord!

Our younger generations especially need to know and walk in the truth. It is our job to lead them.

In line with this, my newest book, BACK TO BASICSwas published this week. (See below.)

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

P.S. Photo below: The Christian Friends of Israel Jerusalem team heads home this week after three months in the USA having had numerous meetings in several states.(I like my ChatGPT rendition I did below.)

P.S.S. Please share these messages with others. I am thankful as you do.

Steve’s newest book, BACK TO BASICSpublished August 2026.

Everything that is to last a long time needs to have a firm foundation to hold during the times of pressure and uncertainty.

Life is no exception. And humanity received that solid rock on which to stand when Moses was given the tablets of stone with life’s directives to take to the people.

We all want to enjoy having the good things in life, and often do that which is good, or not so good, to achieve that goal.

But what if we sought the One who created us to find out what His thoughts are, what His ways were meant to be, and to actually walk in the chosen path He ordained for each of us to follow?

I personally think we might discover the best way to live and find real purpose in discovering and walking out His perfect plan and purposes for you and me.

These messages, drawn from decades of walking with my Lord Jesus, will help to encourage you to get on the path that He, the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, specifically created for you to also walk on.

Life has purpose. Life has meaning. If we look to the Creator, we will know what that is.

Enjoy the reading, and seek the Living God in all His ways. You will surely be rewarded for it, now and forever, amen.

“Commitment - To Do or Not To Do” - message by Steve Martin

Commitment - Do What Is Right

Walking the laps at the local gym sometimes (not always) reminds me of those high school days when practicing on the baseball or football teams. That was a long time ago, so I don’t think of that many times.

But as you will read more below in this message, Commitment - Do What is Right”, I trust your memory banks might be woken up for times of remembrance for you.

Before I pulled out of the drive to come to the gym, the Holy Spirit had me stop and go get one of my books. The young black man at the gym reception desk, Benjie, (“Benjamin” he said when I asked how he wanted it autographed when I saw him) might just read it. All Men Rise Up!

Be blessed, encouraged, and know more the love of our Lord today.

COMMITMENT- DO WHAT IS RIGHT

“Don’t stop. When you get to third base keep running!”

I am sure my Columbus High School baseball coach in Waterloo, Iowa, Brian “Duke” Dutkowski, yelled this a few times, wildly waving his arm in a circular motion as each of us ran the bases in practice.

And when it came to “game time” we already knew what to do. Keep running.

(It paid off. In 1971-1972 in my junior year, we went to the state finals. Though we lost the semi-final game 1-0 to the eventual champion.)

Being trained in the way we should go does not start the moment the game has already begun. Then it is too late. It must start long before, during the training season. When you have time to get it right.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

And then you are prepared to play properly when the umpire yells, “Play ball!”

Commitment must start at the beginning. It is extremely hard to change course in the middle of the crucial game, strategic battle, or when an unforeseen circumstance occurs at home, when the pressure is applied. Especially when you are unprepared, or non-committal.

The biblical writer of Hebrews tells us correctly.

“So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. For as long as God’s still calling it Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes. If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul.” Hebrews 3:12-14, The Message

“Keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with.” Heed that word. Keep it close to your heart and in your spirit.

If we learn to do right at the start, when the time comes to apply the right choice, it will be done.

Commitment. Do what is right.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

“Determination” by Steve Martin

Determination

Our walk with the Lord will bring us to events and situations where we are going to have to either stand strong, or we will turn and run. In my life, I have made that decision already. My life is His. I will stand, so help me God.

Yeshua (Jesus) had made that decision too. He was determined to do the Father’s will, and He did it.

We must choose to be as He was, and have the determination to do what is right before that time will certainly come.

“The Master, God, has given me a well-taught tongue, so I know how to encourage tired people. He wakes me up in the morning. Wakes me up, opens my ears to listen as one ready to take orders.

The Master, God, opened my ears, and I didn’t go back to sleep, didn’t pull the covers back over my head. I followed orders, stood there and took it while they beat me, held steady while they pulled out my beard.

Didn’t dodge their insults, faced them as they spit in my face. And the Master, God, stays right there and helps me, so I’m not disgraced.

Therefore I set my face like flint, confident that I’ll never regret this. My champion is right here. Let’s take our stand together! Who dares bring suit against me? Let him try! Look! the Master, God, is right here.

Who would dare call me guilty? Look! My accusers are a clothes bin of threadbare socks and shirts, fodder for moths!” Isaiah 50:7-9, The Message

When I was the office manager of a Canon copier dealer in Lansing, Michigan, between 1980-1987, I was asked to do an invoice for the company, billing a location that I had heard did abortions. I refused to do so. I wanted no part in it.

I would have been around 26, and we had three young kids at the time. I couldn’t afford to lose my job, but my Lord told me I was not to do that invoice. I told the owner as such.

He then made his wife, the co-owner, do the invoice. (In later years they asked me to become Vice President of the company, but even then the Lord had called me on to other work for Him, and that meant a move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to work for Derek Prince Ministries.)

Are we going to stand as Christians, when faced with decisions that will go against the actions and beliefs of those around us?

Now is the time to make that determination. Not when the time to stand faces us head on. We will need to have made that decision already.

Christians, and Jews, are among the most persecuted in the world. Times have not changed since Jesus’ time. We know the Bible says the same days are coming for us.

Decide now what you are going to do when called upon to choose.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin
