Aug. 27, 2026 Greetings once again from Charlotte, North Carolina. I first want to thank Moses Julius, Light TV in Pakistan, for publishing my book BACK TO JERUSALEM in the Muslim country. He sent me three copies. (Photo above.) On September 15, David Lauka and I begin our return trip to Jerusalem, Israel. We will have six weeks with Christian Friends of Israel, bringing comfort to the nation as the Lord gives us the ongoing opportunity.  If you would also like to bless the people there in this time of their need, all contributions are appreciated. As time quickly speeds on, in the years ahead, I want to focus more on and in Israel, especially as the nations continue to turn away, including the USA. We must stand strong alongside our Jewish friends. I will continue sending these messages from Jerusalem on this 31st trip for me, along with more updates posted on our website, LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE.  And of course I will be uploading new WALK WITH ME videos as I have always done previously. “Reunion” by Steve Martin

REUNION

 

Reunions among families, sports teams, high school and college graduates, band of brothers…these are special times for those involved. The great memories shared, times “relived” of days gone by, even if a bit embellished from the last time you heard that same story retold, all are times we look forward to.

My Martin family reunion set for Labor Day weekend 2026 will be special. Why? Because I am in charge. I have been planning for months to make it so.

I designed a logo for the event, and had it placed on coffee mugs, light blue polo and t-shirts, and have wonderful prizes for games in mind.

Reunions can really be awesome.

The one I am particularly looking forward to though is when the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, returns for those who call upon His Name, and have received His salvation, redemption, which has been offered to all.

This reunion will be the greatest of all. His return, the Lion of Judah, will cause the peoples of the nations to proclaim His Lordship and bow down in worship.

 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True…” — Revelation 19:11 (KJV)

And it continues in Revelation 19:16-16, “And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.

From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 

And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (NASB)

As we grow weary of the wrongs being committed before our eyes; the evil put on people, especially the Jews; the injustice proclaimed as “peace and love” by the louder voices…we who know the Lord and Savior are “keeping our eyes on Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith.” Hebrews 12:2

This reunion will be historic, beyond comprehensive.

The Bible is true. Reunion time cometh!

A closed door? Wait for the open one.

I was actually surprised at my deep reaction when the finality of it hit me.

My 14 years with an uptown Charlotte company, where I started as a “temp” in 2012, then became full time, and then repeated (4 in fact) returns to cover as they tried finding good help…was over.

When my wonderful wife Laurie and I spent three months as volunteers with Christian Friends of Israel in Jerusalem Oct. 16, 2015 - Jan. 12, 2026, I had told Charlotte Center City Partners that this was it with them. I cleaned my desk and left.

But to my surprise they called me back two weeks after my return home to Charlotte, and said they needed my help. In fact, the new CFO had saved and put back my photos on my former desk walls. Surprised indeed!

But all good things come to an end, so we are told, and the door has finally closed. They seem to have finally found good help.

Coupled with the closing this month of another place I had done accounting with for five years as a contractor, doors certainly have closed.

But as my good friend Mordecai had prophesied to me a month ago in home group, “Doors will be closing. But new ones will be opening.” (I call him the “Open Door” prophet.)

When, not if, you experience your closing of doors, know that our Faithful Lord has your back.

And be faithful where you are at until then. He wants to promote you.

“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’ Matthew 25:31, NASB
