“What in the World” by Steve Martin

What in the World

From time to time I will write on what is happening in the world, for as believers we must be aware. We can’t stick our head in the sand and let the rest go to hell.

Scripture commands that we be the salt of the earth.

Yeshua (Jesus) Himself told us that in Matthew 5:13, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.”

Who wants to be thrown out and trampled on? We will if we don’t act as we have been commanded to.

And it is not just the pastors’ or the rabbis’ job.

When a U.S. state like Massachusetts passes a law stating babies in the womb can be murdered (what it actually is) at nine months, what Christian or Jew would agree with that and just say, “Well, not my business.”

The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
watching the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3. NASB

Do what you can. Write about it. Talk about it. Get on social media and say something to counteract what so many say and do.

Don’t be quiet and shut up. We will be held accountable as to what we did or didn’t do.

Ahava and Shalom,

Steve Martin

“Leap of Faith” message by Steve Martin

The Leap of Faith

Laurie and I have loved the series, The Chosen, airing its sixth season in the fall of 2026. It will be impacting and life touching, as Yeshua (Jesus) is crucified.

In the first episode of The Chosen in the Wild,  a Prime Video series starring Bear Grylls, a retired British military man, and cast members from The Chosen, Bear speaks of “taking a risk”.

I remember those words given to the both of us a few years ago in a prophetic word, before deciding to volunteer three months in Jerusalem with Christian Friends of Israel.

Both being retired, the rocking chair on the front porch just didn’t seem the place to be, at least for me.

I was “going for it” and Laurie, though hesitant at first (ok, for awhile) agreed. We took the leap.

“ But as for me, I trust in You, Lord,
I say, “You are my God.” Psalm 31:14, NASB

For each of us, you included, we must walk in faith and trust if we are going to experience all that the Lord desires of us. If we say, “Yes, Lord”, at times it will take a leap of faith on our part. Trusting in His provision, His faithfulness, His protection, His overall care will be necessary.

We will walk through valleys of green, and ones not so much. We will climb many mountains, and even fall a few times. We will look back with what could have been, but must move forward with what can be as we keep our eyes fixed on Him.

Personally, I am not much for living in the “comfort zone.” I want everything the Lord has for me, for us, and as I give myself to His ongoing calling and leading, the leaps of faith become exciting adventures.

May your faith be the same in Him. Go where He takes you. It is an ongoing walk of faith, but the rewards are so much greater.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT - updated book edition by Steve Martin

Walking in the Spirit is needed for the feeble, the fearful, those lacking vision or direction. Most certainly they are needed for those who want to be courageous, victorious, and actually accomplish something with their life.

Living in today’s world, where every foundation that can be shaken is being shaken, as believers, we need the gifts and the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our life. Without them, we too will perish and fall along the way.Through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Lord’s spiritual gifts can be imparted to us.

Through the daily work of the Holy Spirit, His fruit can grow within us.“There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, NKJVGal 5:22-24“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-24, NASB

Whether you have started walking with the Holy Spirit just recently, or have for several decades, as I have, we need a daily refreshing and recharging that the Lord provides for us, through the action of His Holy Spirit, working in and through us.As you read these life stories, inspiring lessons, and hope-filled messages of love and faith that I share with you, may your walk in the Spirit grow and flourish to be an overcomer in the world.

God’s Name

When God spoke to Moses from the burning bush, he revealed his name to be Yahweh and said, "This is my name FOREVER, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.'" (Exodus 3:15) History tells us that no other gods could or did accomplish that. But, how can we know that God's (Yahweh's) name will last forever? And does it matter? Watch today.
